Let’s just do this for Christchurch.

Um, while the symbolism is all very well and good and you may think like you’re acting in solidarity, within hours that tape’s gonna come off and just litter the surrounding area, which is the last thing the residents want to deal with if they’re in one of the suburbs that got nailed that badly.

You wanna do something for christchurch? Donate to the earthquake appeal. Better yet, physically visit someone and ask if there’s anything they need help with, or check out what the student volunteer army are up to (even if you’re not a student, they’re great at connecting people who need help with people who want to).

Look out for your neighbours.
